The seminar will take place on Wednesday 25 June, 15:00- 17:30 in Levi, Lapland.

Registration: We kindly ask you to register via this link and to register to the EU Arctic Forum 2025 via the website here (click on “I will attend side events”).

The EU support to arctic regions via cohesion policy has been essential for their development such as boosting place-based innovation, supporting green industry investments and promoting cooperation between arctic regions, and much more. The structural challenges of arctic regions, combined with the difficult geopolitical context, makes the support from EU cohesion policy to arctic regions even more relevant. As the proposal of the Multiannual Financial Framework is about to be published before the Summer of 2025, this seminar will discuss the future of cohesion policy post 2027 and what the needed reforms and key principles are to continue supporting the arctic regions, as well as building resilient societies and contribute to the security of the Arctic.

The seminar will be divided into three sessions, in presence of high-level speakers discussing: 1) Boosting EU competitiveness 2) Enhance security in the arctic regions 3) Shaping the future of Cohesion policy in the Arctic. The final programme will be shared with you soon.

We look forward to seeing you in Levi! On behalf of the NSPA-network and CPMR Baltic Sea Commission.
